Benefits of each:
Sugar Scrubs Benefits
Best for: Sensitive or dry skin
Gentler exfoliation
Sugar granules are smaller and less abrasive than salt, making them ideal for delicate or sensitive skin (like the face or lips).
Natural humectant
Sugar helps draw moisture into the skin, leaving it hydrated and soft after exfoliating.
Dissolves easily
Sugar melts quickly with water, reducing the risk of over-exfoliation or micro-tears in the skin.
Suitable for frequent use
Can be used 2–3 times a week without irritating most skin types.
Salt Scrubs Benefits
Best for: Rough, calloused, or oily skin
More intense exfoliation
Salt is coarser and better at sloughing off thick, dead skin—great for areas like feet, elbows, or back.
Detoxifying properties
Natural salts (like sea salt or Himalayan salt) contain minerals that can help draw out toxins and improve circulation.
Antibacterial
Salt has natural antiseptic properties, which can help with body acne or clogged pores.
Skin-tightening effect
Salt may help tone and firm the skin slightly due to its astringent properties.
